Case of the Month: February
I received a call one night from a client saying that her horse had gone through a window and was stuck. When we arrived, the window ended up being the drop down bars of a stall door and not a glass window.
The horse was very calm. His front half was outside the stall and his back half was still inside the stall. The gelding had caught his hips on the bars and was unable to get the rest of his body over the door. The owner had removed one bar in the stall door by the time I had arrived. We sedated the gelding lightly which caused him to lay on the stall door. One of the barn helpers helped life each back foot onto a bale of hay. Doing this allowed the gelding some more height. With a little persuasion, the gelding was able to get his back end over the door safely. He is now recovering and doing well! It's always nice to have friends and neighbors available to help out when you need them!
